Program

Day 1: Noravank – Areni – Goris

• Departure to one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia, Noravank, surrounded by sheer red cliffs.
• After exploring Noravank and its surroundings, we’ll head to the village of Areni, which could be called the winemaking center of Armenia.
• We’ll tour a wonderful winery, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and a tasting of one of Armenia’s finest wines.
• After lunch, we’ll visit a cave where ancient wine jugs and shoes dating back 6,000 years were recently discovered.
• Next, we’ll head to Goris, one of Armenia’s greenest cities.
• We’ll stroll through this beautiful city.
• Overnight in Goris.

Day 2: Khndzoresk – Old Khot – Tatev

• After a delicious breakfast, we’ll head to the ancient village of Khndzoresk. We’ll cross a suspension bridge over a gorge and explore ancient caves where people lived 100 years ago.
• Afterwards, we’ll take a short trek to the abandoned village of Old Khot.
• Lunch with locals.
• Our next stop will be in the direction of what is undoubtedly the most magical place in Armenia – the village of Tatev.
• Before reaching Tatev, we’ll make another stop near the “Bridge of Satan,” from where we’ll stroll to the Tatev Hermitage Church.
• We’ll arrive in Tatev in the evening.
• Overnight at a guesthouse.
  

Day 3: Tatev – Vahanavank – Baghaberd – Kapan

• We’ll rise early and enjoy the sunrise over Tatev Monastery.
• Breakfast.
• We’ll then take a tour of Tatev Monastery and meet its abbot, Father Mikael. Lunch
• Then we’ll head to the town of Kapan.
• On the way, we’ll stop at the beautiful Vahanavank monastery complex, surrounded by a beautiful, dense forest.
• We’ll also explore the ancient Baghaberd fortress and other beautiful sights in the Kapan area.
• Overnight in Kapan.

Day 4: Kapan – Mount Khustup – Kapan

• Breakfast
• Next, we’ll take an off-road tour to the summit of Mount Khustup. We’ll climb almost to the summit, after which we’ll hike a short distance to the very top, where we’ll enjoy stunning views.
• Small snack at the summit.
• Return to Kapan.
• Rest.

Day 5: Kapan – Lichk – Lake Tsakkar – Kapan

• Breakfast
• Next, we’ll take a truly amazing jeep tour to the Lichk waterfalls and the beautiful mountain lake Tsakkar.
• Lunch (outdoor picnic)
• We’ll return to Kapan in the evening.

Day 6: Kapan – Meghri – Kapan

• Breakfast
• Next, we’ll head to Armenia’s southernmost and warmest city, Meghri. We’ll stroll through this beautiful city and visit the Armenian-Iranian border, which offers a stunning view of the Araks River.
• Lunch
• Return to Kapan

Day 7: Vorotnavank – Shake Waterfall – Yerevan

• Breakfast
• Then we’ll return to Yerevan.
• On our route, we’ll stop at Vorotnavank Monastery and the beautiful Shake Waterfall.
