Description
We invite all wine lovers to a short wine tour of Armenia. We’ll visit the most fascinating wineries, meet the winemakers, learn about winemaking technology, and taste wonderful wines.
According to biblical legend, Noah, descending from Mount Ararat, planted the first grapevine. This marked the beginning of the winemaking tradition in Armenia. Recently, archaeologists discovered the oldest winemaking facilities, dating back over 6,000 years, in a cave near the village of Areni. The development of winemaking in Armenia is facilitated by favorable natural conditions, the availability of technologically advanced indigenous grape varieties, and the thousands of years of winemaking experience. Today’s wine production in Armenia harmoniously combines this experience and tradition, as well as new high-tech processes. In recent years, many new, state-of-the-art wineries have opened in Armenia. And, of course, we won’t forget the many beautiful sights.
