Description
Every autumn, Areni becomes one of the centers of Armenia’s wine culture. Located in the heart of the Vayots Dzor wine region, the village hosts a major wine festival with tastings, local cuisine, music, dancing and an opportunity to meet Armenian winemakers.
We offer more than just a visit to the festival — this is a four-day journey through Armenia, with the Areni Wine Festival as its main event. The festival is an opportunity to taste wines from different producers, discover Armenia’s modern wine culture and spend a day surrounded by the atmosphere of a large Armenian celebration.
The festival experience is complemented by a journey through Armenia, including Yerevan, Lake Sevan and Dilijan, Khor Virap and Noravank, Garni and Geghard, as well as a winery visit and an introduction to Armenian cuisine.
The Areni Wine Festival Tour is four autumn days bringing together wine, gastronomy and travel around Armenia, centered around one of the country’s best-known wine events.

Program
Day 1: Yerevan
- Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport.
- Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
- Hotel accommodation.
- Sightseeing tour of Yerevan.
- Welcome dinner at an Armenian restaurant.
- Free time.
- Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 2: Lake Sevan – Dilijan – Haghartsin
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Departure to Lake Sevan.
- Visit to Sevanavank Monastery, with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
- Continue to Dilijan.
- Walk through the historic part of Dilijan.
- Lunch at a local guesthouse.
- Continue through the forested landscapes of Dilijan National Park to Haghartsin Monastery.
- Return to Yerevan.
- Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 3: Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni Wine Festival
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Departure to Vayots Dzor, one of Armenia’s main wine-producing regions.
- Visit to Khor Virap Monastery, with views of Mount Ararat on clear days.
- Continue to Noravank Monastery, surrounded by the red cliffs of Vayots Dzor.
- Arrival in Areni.
- Visit to the Areni Wine Festival.
- Time at the festival for wine tastings, Armenian food, music, dancing and meeting local wine producers.
- Return to Yerevan in the evening.
- Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 4 – Garni – Geghard – Departure
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Departure to Geghard Monastery, partly carved into the surrounding rock.
- Continue to Garni Temple, Armenia’s best-known monument from the pre-Christian period.
- Walk through the Garni Gorge to see the Symphony of Stones.
- Lunch with a traditional lavash-making experience, including an introduction to baking lavash in a tonir.
- Return to Yerevan.
- Transfer to Zvartnots International Airport according to the flight schedule.
- Departure.
