Climbing to mount Aragats

Description

The mountain Aragats is the highest peak in nowadays Armenia. It is 4090 meters high and has 4 summits. There is a 350 meter deep volcanic crater in between those 4 summits.

The highest summit is the northern, which is 4090 m, then western – 4007 m, eastern – 3916 m and southern – 3879 m.

We invite you to climb Aragats and have a look at Armenia from 4000m heights.

When the weather is clear you can easily see a wonderful view to the mount Ararat, Geghama mountains and the mount Ara. The climbing begins from 3300 m where we get by car.

 

Climbing season: June – September

Program

Yerevan – Aragats – Yerevan

  • Departure from Yerevan towards Mount Aragats
  • We drive up to an altitude of 3300 m to Lake Kari
  • Then the walking part of the tour begins, which takes about 5-6 hours (about 3 hours ascent and 2 hours descent)
  • Lunch at the top
