Description
Lake Sevan is much more than its famous peninsula and Sevanavank Monastery. This journey continues farther along the lakeshore, offering different views of Sevan while discovering small towns, ancient monuments and the gastronomic traditions of the region.
The day begins at Sevanavank, with time to enjoy the views and walk along the lakeshore, before continuing to Hayravank Monastery. The journey then leads to Gavar, where a small family-run cheese producer offers a tasting of locally made cheeses.
Another highlight of the route is Noratus, famous for its historic cemetery with hundreds of medieval khachkars — traditional Armenian carved cross-stones.
The Sevan – Noratus Tour is an excellent choice for travelers who want to do more than simply see Lake Sevan — spending a full day by the lake while discovering the history, landscapes and local flavors of Gegharkunik.
For those looking to add an active experience, the program can also be combined with yachting or kayaking on Lake Sevan.
