Description
Vayots Dzor is Armenia’s main wine-producing region and one of the best places to discover Armenian wine. Vineyards grow among mountains and rocky valleys, small modern wineries stand alongside ancient monuments, and the history of winemaking in the region goes back thousands of years.
The journey begins at Khor Virap, with its famous view of Mount Ararat, before continuing into Vayots Dzor. The route includes Noravank Monastery, surrounded by red cliffs, and Areni-1 Cave, where important archaeological evidence connected with early winemaking was discovered.
The main part of the day is dedicated to two wineries in Vayots Dzor. Depending on the selected rate, the first visit is to Momik Wines or Old Bridge Winery, with wine tasting and lunch. The journey then continues to Trinity Canyon Vineyards, known for its organic wines and vineyards in the highlands of Vayots Dzor.
The Areni Wine Tour is more than a wine tasting — it is a full day in Vayots Dzor, where Armenian wine becomes part of a journey through history, local cuisine and mountain landscapes.
The wine tour can also be arranged for corporate and MICE groups, with extended tastings, a gastronomic lunch, workshops or other winery activities added to the program.
