Description

Kayaking is a great way to experience Armenia’s mountain landscapes from a completely different perspective. Calm water, surrounding mountain slopes and the opportunity to paddle away from the shore turn a simple kayak trip into a small outdoor journey. A safety briefing and basic instruction are provided before going on the water, so no previous kayaking experience is required.

The main location for our kayaking tours is Azat Reservoir, situated not far from Yerevan among the unusual landscapes at the foot of Mount Yeranos. The program includes approximately two hours of kayaking, followed by lunch and a return to Yerevan — or the journey can continue to Garni, Geghard and the Symphony of Stones.

Another option is kayaking on Lake Sevan, where time on the water can be combined with a visit to Sevanavank Monastery and lunch by the lake.

Kayaking in Armenia is suitable both for beginners and for travelers who simply want to exchange sightseeing for a few hours of water, mountains and quiet surroundings.

Kayaking can also be arranged as a separate activity for corporate groups or included in a larger outdoor team-building program.

Program

Kayaking at Azat Reservoir

  • Departure from Yerevan towards Azat Reservoir.
  • Arrival at the reservoir and meeting with the instructor.
  • Safety briefing and introduction to basic kayaking techniques.
  • Approximately two hours of kayaking on Azat Reservoir, surrounded by the mountain landscapes at the foot of Mount Yeranos.
  • Return to shore.
  • Lunch.
  • Return to Yerevan.

It is also possible to combine this activity with a tour to Garni and Geghard.
