Description

Seven days in Syunik is much more than a sightseeing trip to southern Armenia — it is a real journey through one of the country’s most mountainous and remote regions. Here, the distances become longer, the number of tourists smaller, and the classic landmarks gradually give way to mountain roads, small towns and places rarely visited on a first journey through Armenia.

The route takes us through Goris, Tatev and Kapan to Meghri and the Araks Valley in the far south of the country. What makes this tour different is the opportunity to travel without rushing: watch the sunrise in Tatev, hike to the abandoned village of Old Khot, spend a full day on the slopes of Mount Khustup, and travel by 4×4 to the Lichk waterfalls and high-altitude Lake Tsakkar.

There is another side of Armenia along the way as well — the wine region of Vayots Dzor, lunches with local families, small guesthouses, a picnic in the mountains, ancient monasteries and fortresses, and, above all, several days surrounded by the landscapes of Syunik, far from the usual tourist routes.

Syunik Tour – 7 Days is a journey for travelers who want to do more than simply visit Tatev and truly discover southern Armenia — its mountains, towns, nature and people.
