Tour to Noravank

Description

Noravank located just 100 km from Yerevan and surrounded by beautiful rocks, it is one of the most beautiful monastery complexes in Armenia.  Our tour to Noravank is one of the most interesting day trips. The tour begins with the monastery Of Khor Virap, which is one of the main symbols of Christianity in Armenia, because it was here that the first Catholicos of Armenia Gregory the Illuminator spent in prison. Also here we will get as close as possible to the symbol of Armenia, the biblical Ararat. After that we will arrive in the region of Vayots Dzor. Where we will have an excursion to Noravank monastery, as well as to the wine-making center of Armenia, the village of Areni. We will also visit the cave where wine was made 600 years ago.

Program

Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni

  • We will leave Yerevan early in the morning and drive to Khor Virap Monastery, located at the very foot of Mount Ararat, which is the closest point to Ararat. We’ll capture the monastery with the mountain in the background.
  • Further our way leads to one of the most beautiful monasteries of Armenia – Noravank, which is surrounded by steep red rocks.
  • After capturing Noravank, we will go to the village of Areni, which can be called wine-growing center of Armenia, where we will have a delicious lunch with locals and have a good rest.
  • After lunch we will visit the Areni cave, which is 6000 years old
  • Next, we will have a tour to the winery with tasting
  • Back to the Yerevan
