Description
Mount Ararat is impossible to photograph just once. Depending on the season, weather, light and viewpoint, the mountain looks completely different — catching the first rays of sunrise, reflected in water, rising behind Khor Virap or appearing above flowering fields in spring.
Our Mount Ararat Photo Hunt begins before sunrise, when we travel from Yerevan to one of our selected photography locations to capture the first light of the day and the reflection of Greater and Lesser Ararat in a small lake. We then continue to Khor Virap Monastery, which offers one of the most iconic views of the biblical mountain.
From early May to mid-June, we will also try to capture another particularly beautiful scene — Mount Ararat rising above flowering fields.
The exact route of the photo hunt may change depending on the season, weather and visibility. The idea is not simply to follow a fixed itinerary, but to search for the best available light and the most interesting perspectives of Armenia’s most iconic mountain.
