Description

Three days among the forests and mountains of Tavush — a short journey through one of the greenest and most scenic parts of Armenia. Forest trails, mountain lakes, peaks, gorges and waterfalls create a different landscape each day, revealing several sides of northern Armenia in one trip.

The first day takes us into Dilijan National Park. Starting from Lake Parz, we follow forest trails towards Lake Gosh and the village of Gosh. In the evening, return to Dilijan for an overnight stay.

The following day brings an ascent of Mount Dimats, one of the most scenic mountain routes around Dilijan. Alpine meadows, rocky peaks, panoramic views across Tavush and the wild horses often seen in these highlands create a completely different atmosphere. After the descent, transfer to Yenokavan for the night.

The third day is dedicated to Lastiver. A forest trail follows the gorge and descends towards the caves, mountain river and waterfalls. The day can also be combined with ziplining or horse riding in Yenokavan.

This 3-day hiking tour in Tavush is ideal for travelers who want to spend several active days in nature, combining forest trekking, a real mountain ascent and one of Armenia’s most scenic waterfall hikes.

Program

Day 1: Yerevan – Dilijan National Park

  • Morning departure from Yerevan towards Dilijan National Park.
  • Arrival at Lake Parz, where the hiking route begins.
  • Hike through the forests of Dilijan National Park towards Lake Gosh, following quiet forest trails away from the main roads.
  • Stop at Lake Gosh for a rest and picnic lunch in nature.
  • Continue hiking towards the village of Gosh, where the hiking part of the day ends.
  • Transfer to Dilijan.
  • Overnight in Dilijan.

Day 2: Mount Dimats – Yenokavan

  • After breakfast, departure towards the starting point of the Mount Dimats hiking route.
  • Ascent of Mount Dimats through alpine meadows and the mountain landscapes of Tavush. Along the route, wild horses can often be seen grazing in the highlands.
  • At the top, time to enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and valleys surrounding Dilijan and Ijevan.
  • Lunch in the mountains.
  • Descent from Mount Dimats.
  • Transfer to Yenokavan.
  • Overnight in Yenokavan.

Day 3: Hike to Lastiver – Yerevan

  • After breakfast, beginning of the hike to Lastiver.
  • The trail leads through dense forest and along Lastiver Gorge towards the caves.
  • Descent towards the mountain river and waterfalls, with time to relax in nature.
  • Lunch near the river.
  • Hike back through the forest to Yenokavan.
  • Optional ziplining or horse riding in Yenokavan.
  • Return to Yerevan in the evening.
