Description

Two days on horseback among the forests and mountains of Tavush — a journey for those who want to leave the roads behind for a while and experience Armenia’s landscapes from a completely different perspective. Forest trails around Dilijan, the open mountain scenery of Yenokavan, small villages and the quiet atmosphere away from the city make this a very different kind of journey through Armenia.

The first day takes us to Dilijan, with a horseback ride along the trails of Dilijan National Park. Afterwards, the program continues with time to explore the town, lunch at a traditional guesthouse and a transfer to Yenokavan, where the group stays overnight.

The following day brings another horseback ride, this time through the very different mountain landscapes of Tavush around Yenokavan. Each horseback ride lasts approximately 1.5–2 hours, with the route and pace adapted to the riding experience of the participants.

After the second ride, optional activities can include ziplining at Yell Extreme Park or a short hike towards Lastiver Gorge.

This 2-day horseback riding tour combines riding, the landscapes of Dilijan and Yenokavan, and a short journey through one of Armenia’s greenest regions.

The tour can also be arranged for corporate groups, or horseback riding can be included as part of an active team-building program in Armenia.

Program

Day 1: Dilijan

  • Morning departure from Yerevan towards Dilijan.
  • Arrival at the horseback riding location and meeting with the instructor.
  • Safety briefing and introduction to horseback riding.
  • Horseback ride through the forests and mountain landscapes of Dilijan National Park — approximately 1.5–2 hours.
  • After the ride, continue to Dilijan for a walk through the historic part of the town.
  • Lunch at a traditional guesthouse.
  • Transfer to Yenokavan.
  • Check-in and rest.
  • Overnight in Yenokavan.

Day 2: Yenokavan

  • Breakfast.
  • Meeting with the instructor and preparation for the second horseback ride.
  • Horseback ride through the mountain landscapes around Yenokavan — approximately 1.5–2 hours.
  • After the ride, optional ziplining at Yell Extreme Park or a short hike towards Lastiver Gorge.
  • Lunch.
  • Return to Yerevan in the evening.
