Wine is a drink that you can talk about endlessly. Writers, artists and ancient thinkers left us many quotes and aphorisms about this drink. The Romans say that years, lovers and glasses of wine are things that don’t need to be counted. The famous director Federico Fellini once said that a good wine is like a good movie: it ends quickly, leaving a great aftertaste; with every sip something new opens up in it, and as is often the case with films, it is born and reborn in every new connoisseur.
“Wine Days of Yerevan” holds a special place among the wine events in Armenia. Since 2017, the event has been held annually on the first Friday and Saturday of May, but this year the celebration will take place on June 4 and 5. The festival will traditionally be held on Saryan Street. Every year more than 30,000 visitors have the opportunity to taste Armenian wine.
Within two days from 16:00 to 23:00, local residents and guests of Yerevan will be able to taste a lot of wine made from endemic Armenian grape varieties. Along with wine, guests can enjoy their favorite dishes of Armenian cuisine. A rich assortment of cheeses will make the tasting process more refined.
Admission is free for all visitors, but if you want to taste wines, you will need to purchase special tasting coupons, with the coupon you will receive a glass with a logo and a pouch for this glass, which you can hang around your neck. The price of this package is only AMD 5,000, which corresponds to 700 rubles.
This year, the organizers decided to make changes and, in addition to tasting, hold interesting master classes.
Dance music, pleasant intoxicated mood will make your evenings unforgettable. Perhaps this was the reason why journalist Tom Mullen “Yerevan Wine Days” mentioned in his article “Yerevan in Armenia – a pearl for travel, food and wine.”
Plan your vacation in Armenia at the beginning of June and you will be able to visit this unforgettable event.
