Description
Armenia is a wonderful destination for bird and wildlife watching and photography. Mountain plateaus, forests, canyons, steppes, lakes, and alpine meadows provide diverse natural habitats and spectacular landscapes for wildlife photography.
During our Birdwatching & Wildlife Photography Tour, we travel to one of Armenia’s natural areas selected according to the season, weather conditions, and your particular interests. The main goal of the trip is to observe and photograph birds and wild animals in their natural habitat.
The itinerary may vary depending on the season and current conditions. Wildlife photography is all about being in the right place at the right time.
Upon request, Travel-Armenia can also design and organize multi-day bird and wildlife photography tours in different regions of Armenia.
Program
Early departure from Yerevan
Meet your guide and drive to the selected natural area. Early morning is one of the best times for wildlife watching and photography.
Bird & Wildlife Watching and Photography
Arrival at the observation area. We search for birds and wildlife, make short walks between observation points, and choose the best locations for photography.
There is no strict sightseeing schedule. If we find an interesting location or good wildlife activity, we can stay longer and wait for the right moment to photograph.
Lunch / Picnic
Break for lunch. Depending on the itinerary, a picnic in nature can be arranged.
Afternoon Wildlife Photography
Continue to other observation and photography locations. We keep looking for birds and wild animals while also photographing Armenia’s natural landscapes.
When conditions are suitable, we can stay for the evening light — one of the most beautiful times for wildlife and nature photography.
Return to Yerevan.
The exact itinerary is determined before the trip according to the season, weather conditions, and the interests of the participants. For most locations, 4×4 off-road vehicles are used.
Armenia is an interesting destination for birdwatching and bird photography thanks to its remarkable variety of natural landscapes. Mountain steppes, forests, rocky canyons, lakes, wetlands, and high-altitude areas provide habitats for numerous bird species.
Depending on the season, it is possible to observe and photograph birds of prey, waterbirds, mountain species, and migratory birds while discovering some of Armenia’s lesser-known natural areas.
The mountainous and remote regions of Armenia offer opportunities to observe wild animals in their natural environment. A wildlife photography tour in Armenia is not only about capturing a great image — it is also a chance to discover a completely different side of the country, far from the most popular tourist routes.
Sightings of particular animals can never be guaranteed. We select the location and timing of each trip according to the season and current natural conditions to provide the best possible opportunities for wildlife observation and photography.
One day is not enough to experience the full diversity of Armenia’s wildlife and landscapes. Upon request, Travel-Armenia organizes private multi-day Bird & Wildlife Photography Tours throughout Armenia.
The duration and itinerary are designed individually. The program can include several natural regions of Armenia, early-morning and evening photography sessions, 4×4 trips, and overnight stays in different parts of the country.
