Tour Garni-Geghard-Sevan

Description

Excursions to Garni and Geghard, as well as to Lake Sevan are one of the most popular among the guests of Armenia. On this day we will visit all these places. Garni and Geghard, two very beautiful and significant architectural monuments, are located just 40 km from Yerevan, in close proximity to each other. The only monument of the pre-Christian era of Armenia that has survived on the territory is the pagan temple of Garni and the Geghard monastery complex carved into the rock surrounded by beautiful nature. In addition, on the way to Garni and Geghard, a beautiful panorama of the biblical Mount Ararat opens up. And Lake Sevan is one of the largest alpine lakes in the world.

Program

Garni – Geghard – Sevan

  • Departure to the monastery complex Geghard – a unique architectural structure, part of which is carved into the rock. The name of the monastery complex originates from the spear which had pierced the body of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and, according to historical sources, brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus, among many other relics.
  • Departure to Garni, where is the only preserved monument in Armenia, belonging to the era of paganism and Hellenism.
    Walk through the gorge, where you will see a small miracle of nature called “stone Symphony”.
  • Lunch, during which You will take a direct part in the baking of the famous Armenian bread – lavash.
  • Trip to the lake Sevan. Visiting the monastery Sevanavank, walk along the lake. 
  • Return to Yerevan.
